Modeled after the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower was the tallest building in Baltimore when it was constructed in 1911. Designed by Joseph Evans Sperry and built by Captain Isaac Emerson, the Tower takes its name from Emersons then-novel invention, a headache remedy known as Bromo Seltzer.
