One of Baltimore�s oldest neighborhoods, Federal Hill overlooks the inner harbor, where industry boomed along the Patapsco River. The harbor was a prime location for industrial development, home to the prosperous Pennsylvania Steel Company�s steel mill and shipyard, which dominated manufacturing in the area and further spurred the growth of the city�s population.
