Baltimore, Maryland, The Square on Eutaw Place, c1903

As development in Baltimore pressed north during the 19th century, Henry Tiffany sought to capitalize on his land holdings where they bordered Dolphin Street. He worked with the city to extend Eutaw Street as a divided road to be called Eutaw Place. In exchange, he built townhouses along the street front and landscaped the median into an ornamental garden, which became known as Eutaw Square.
