When the Broad Street Station was expanded upon in 1893, 12 years after it's original construction, Pennsylvania Railroad's downtown transportation hub became the largest passenger terminal in the world. Shown here in 1900, the station served Philadelphia residents until 1953, a year after train service stopped.
