The end of the 19th century brought about a surge in development in Kansas City, greatly contributing to the city�s skyline, thanks to new infrastructure that connected Kansas City to other parts of the country. Many important New York, Chicago and Boston architectural firms set up shop in downtown Kansas City to take advantage of the building boom, and several of the city�s iconic buildings sprang up as a result.
