Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City Stockyards, c1936

During its heyday from the late-1800s to the mid-1900s, the Kansas City Stockyards were second only to those of Chicago. The American Royal Livestock Show, named by the Kansas City Daily Drovers Telegram, included 40 livestock events featuring cattle and horses from the Stockyard. More than 100 years running, it continues to be one of the most popular events in Kansas City.
