Looking Down Bull Street to Wright Square, c1907
Wright Square was the second of Savannah’s squares to be established, then
known as Percival Square after the man who gave Georgia its name. Like
most of Savannah’s public squares, it features a historical monument, yet
it is the only one featuring a Savannah native. The Gordon Monument
was erected in 1883 and stands in honor of William Washington Gordon,
president of Georgia’s first railroad.
