Milwaukee�s East Town neighborhood has also been referred to as �Juneau Town� after explorer, early inhabitant, and city founder Solomon Juneau. The neighborhood marks the area where Juneau began constructing log cabins and incorporated the settlement of Juneautown. By the turn of the 20th century, the former frontier trade outpost was developing into a prominent downtown commercial district.
