Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The Fort Pitt Blockhouse, c1901

In 1902, Henry Clay Frick brought legal action against the Daughters of the American Revolution, when they refused his offer to move the Fort Pitt Blockhouse from its historic home to Schenley Park. The blockhouse was built in 1764 as a defensive outpost of the since-demolished Fort Pitt, and was obstructing expansion of Fricks railroad enterprise. The lawsuit was a failure, and the blockhouse remained. It became part of Point State Park in 1949.
