The view from King’s Heights in 1912 shows a rapidly expanding city nestled
into the valley 50 miles from Mount Hood. Seven years after hosting the Lewis
and Clark Centennial Exposition, Portland’s population had grown from 90,000
in 1900 to more than 200,000 residents.
