In 1911, a host of brave men on motorcycles took off from Seattle in a race of endurance ending in Vancouver, British Colombia. The official car of the Seattle Motorcycle Race followed behind the motorcyclists, ready to pick up those who fell behind from exhaustion or due to technical difficulties. Furnished by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, the car carried two judges, as well as a mechanic, tires and repair parts for the motos.
