Fayette Park flourished in the late 1860s after nearby residents gathered enough donations to hire landscape architect C. Hastings for the parks redesign. Centrally located and surrounded by stately homes, the park was recreated with an ornate fountain, curvy pathways, lush plantings and a cast iron perimeter fence that still beautifies the area today.
