Niagara Falls, New York, Terrapin Point, c1895

Just adjacent to the rushing Horseshoe Falls stands Terrapin Point, one of the original observation points on the American side of Niagara Falls. In 1895, it consisted of a narrow, wooden walkway out on the rocks to the brink of the falls. Later, in the 1950s, the area would be backfilled to create a larger area for visitors to observe the rushing waters.
